We want to be explicit when it comes to future development of this nonprofit institution: our objective is to continue to be a lean, mean, campaigning machine, with intentionally minimal infrastructure. This is because we have no desire to reinvent the wheel: we instead organize and contract out to support different movement partners in their longstanding efforts to build a more just economy; whenever appropriate. From this perspective we benefit from Candide Group’s infrastructure — with whom we primarily contract to execute our work. We are excited about support to help grow our capacity to continue filling the gaps in financial activism, which our partners on the ground have long identified.
Our progress thus far is the product of countless volunteer hours dedicated to strategizing, relationship-building, content creation, outreach, and organizing. We did this work without a budget to invest in development, because we felt it was our responsibility to immediately contribute our unique expertise and skills at the nexus of investing and activism. Pending funding, we intend to move more banks and investors out of private prisons, witness the end of for-profit incarceration, and help individuals make their own real money moves by learning how to align their money with their values across a variety of social movements — from anti-racism to environmental justice.
